- A swollen, painful neck with high fever, or inability to swallow your own saliva
- Severe facial swelling, or swelling around the eye with disturbed vision
What results can and cannot tell you
The symptom questionnaires on this website are validated instruments used in ear, nose and throat practice to record how symptoms affect a person. They measure symptom burden. They do not make a diagnosis, they do not establish a cause, and a score on its own does not mean any particular treatment is needed.
A score is useful as a starting point for a consultation and as a way of tracking change over time. It should be interpreted by a doctor alongside your history and examination.
